Join us for an unparalleled adventure through Socotra, a remote and biologically diverse island off the coast of Yemen. This trip is designed for those who crave adventure and want to experience one of the last untouched places on Earth. Over eight days, you'll hike through surreal landscapes, swim in natural pools, camp under the stars, and explore vibrant marine life.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival & Arher Sand Dunes

Arrive in Socotra and embark on a scenic drive along the northern coast, passing fishing villages and pristine beaches. Discover the stunning Arher dunes, where towering sands meet rugged cliffs. Spend the afternoon exploring the dunes or relaxing by a freshwater creek. As night falls, settle into our private beach campsite and enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars.

Day 2 Homhil & Infinity Pool

Begin the day with a hike to Homhil, home to the legendary dragon blood trees. A short but rewarding climb leads to a breathtaking natural infinity pool with panoramic views of the turquoise sea below. After a refreshing swim, return to the Arher campsite for an afternoon of relaxation, or visit a local village for a traditional tea experience with the friendly Socotri people.

Day 3 Wadi Kalissan & Dihamri Marine Reserve

Venture into the remote landscapes of Wadi Kalissan, where a scenic 40-minute hike leads to a stunning oasis of crystal-clear freshwater pools. Swim in the cool waters, surrounded by smooth white limestone. In the afternoon, journey to Dihamri Marine Reserve, where you can snorkel among vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. Enjoy a night camping on the beach with the sound of waves in the background.

Day 4 Dragon Blood Tree Forest & Diksam Plateau

Head inland to Diksam Plateau, home to Socotra’s most iconic trees. Stop at Wadi Dirhur, a dramatic gorge where Bedouin herdsmen tend to their flocks. Walk beneath the twisted canopies of dragon blood trees and learn about their famous red resin. As the sun sets, camp high on the plateau, where stunning valley views stretch in every direction.

Day 5 South Coast Exploration & Zahek Dunes

Travel toward Socotra’s southern coastline, where the plateau ends and the endless panorama of the Indian Ocean begins. Stop at Aomak Beach for a swim, then explore Dagub Cave, used by villagers for shelter during monsoon season. The highlight of the day is the surreal Zahek dunes, a vast sea of blinding white sand perfect for climbing, sliding, and sunset photography. Camp among the dunes for a truly unique overnight experience.

Day 6 Detwah Lagoon & Qalansiya Village

Wake up to the beauty of the southern coast before heading west to Detwah Lagoon. With its shifting white sandbanks and brilliant turquoise waters, this protected area is one of Socotra’s most picturesque spots. After a relaxing afternoon, visit Qalansiya, a traditional fishing village, where narrow alleyways and friendly locals offer a glimpse into daily island life. End the day with an optional sunset hike to a scenic viewpoint before camping by the lagoon.

Day 7 Shoab Beach & Dolphin Spotting

Board a boat and cruise along the cliffs of Socotra’s western coast, watching for pods of playful spinner dolphins. Arrive at Shoab Beach, a remote paradise with crystal-clear waters and soft golden sands. Spend the day swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing on the shore. If conditions allow, take the opportunity to snorkel and even swim alongside the dolphins. In the evening, return to Detwah Lagoon for your final night on the island.
